Slattery Tackett Architects, LLP was formed on April 1, 2007 as a continuation of a firm started in 1978 by Gerald Tackett. As a team, David Slattery and Gerald Tackett have earned a reputation of integrity. Collectively, they bring over 70 years experience to the firm. Slattery Tackett is known for building deep client relationships and delivering innovative design solutions. The firm has built a portfolio of commercial, religious, and municipal projects that span a wide range of styles, sizes, and budgets.

David Slattery, AIA

David J. Slattery graduated from the University of Houston in 1984 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. David’s background in architecture, construction, and design/build firms has given him experience in the design and construction of many types of commercial projects, including public entertainment, healthcare, worship, and emergency services facilities. His passion for tackling tough projects and ability to help client effectively communicate their wants, needs and goals for a project make him a valuable asset to design and construction teams.

Gerald Tackett, AIA


A graduate of Texas A&M University, Gerald began his architectural career in 1959 with Caudill Rowlett and Scott Architects; and through this affiliation, he was honored to be one of the designers for the Manned Spacecraft Center for NASA. Gerald established his first architectural firm in 1964, and has led the design of numerous successful commercial and municipal projects throughout Texas. Gerald has also served as instructor in the colleges of architecture at the University of Houston and Rice University.
